The Parents' Association participate in regular school activities by organising the refreshments for the Autumn and Summer Concerts and New Parents' Evening as well as arranging fund-raising events at the school. Annually we collect money to donate to charities selected by the girls. At the 2009 Carol Service we raised £624.73 which was split as follows: £200 to Clic Sargent £200 to Down's Syndrome Association £200 to Costello Syndrome £300 carried over from 2008 to Children With Leukemia This year we have made a £1000 contribution towards the activities that took place for Years 11 to 13 on Grade Day 2010. Self Defence for Y11, a Study Skills seminar for Y12 and a Cookery for Survival course for Y13 were thoroughly enjoyed by the girls. The Parents' Association have committed to making an annual contribution towards activities on Grade Day, funds permitting. Our main fund-raising event is usually the Summer Fete but, due to the current building work, we have down-sized this year and are instead organising an indoor Summer Bazaar on Saturday 19 June. This will include stalls run by girls including the Chocolate Tombola, Nail Bar and Henna Tatoos as well as some stalls run externally such as Jewellry. There will be refreshments and entertainment in the form of girls busking so please come and give them your support or, better still, volunteer to help with organisation on the day. The Summer Bazaar will also incorporate the ever-popular Uniform Sale where we sell good quality, second-hand uniform on behalf of parents for a commission. If you have used uniform you would like to sell, please contact us. If you would are interested in joining the committee or helping out at any of our events, please contact Crescentia as above. |
