CGS Vision 2017-2010
“To inspire confident, ethical and compelling individuals with the aspiration and qualities to shape a better future for all”.
We are coming to the end of an eventful school year that has seen the school move forward in many ways. The CGS House System that was introduced in September 2016 has been a major success. It has provided a real sense of identity and positive competition into the community. The Identity Project has been an excellent opportunity for students to engage in a project that includes everyone. Vertical tutoring will deepen the sense of an integrated community when it is introduced in September 2017. We are determined to celebrate and use the positive energy that comes from the wonderful diversity in the school. Our high ambition for all students is reflected in the vision (please see above) for the next three years. Underpinning this vision is a desire to further improve the quality of teaching and learning (60% of lessons are currently outstanding – this was 34% in June 2016). We also aim to develop a curriculum for the 21st Century that will allow our students to be successful in an increasing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) employment market.
Three years from now, we aim to have an expanded Sixth Form offering a broader curriculum and world class employability skills. We are a school which has the highest ambitions for all of our students.
Thank you very much for all the support you have given the school, the amazing staff at CGS and myself.
Have a wonderful summer break!
Mr John Whitehead, Principal
