Dolphin School Introduction
This is a new co-educational primary school situated on the Cheltenham Road. It has been set up in response to the need for places in Redland, Cotham, Bishopston and Montpelier. (See website for the catchment area).
The school is part of the CGS Trust and is run by the Senior Team of Colston’s Girls’ School. The ethos of the school mirrors CGS – it is Christian in its ethos and the values of Achievement, Aspiration, Responsibility and Community underpin the life of the school.
The current premises are a high quality refurbishment building with a play area and forest walk. Additionally, the children will have the benefit of the CGS facilities, including gym, tennis courts and dining room. Plans are being drawn up for a new build in 2014.
Our educational offering is predicated on an emphasis on literacy – particularly reading. All children should read to their chronological age, if not at least two years above by the time they are age 7. Similarly, Mathematics will be benchmarked and children will learn French from Reception age.
