House Johnson Spring 2017

20th January 2017 - School Houses, School News

Wow! what a fantastic year so far.  It has been an absolute pleasure and honour to be in charge of House Johnson.  I love the creativity, enthusiasm and vigour of Johnson students.

Assemblies have been brilliant due to the energy and engagement of students.  Many students from all year groups have presented in some way and all presentations have been extremely inspirational.  Our weekly House Planning provides a platform for students to celebrate success and recognise each other.  Johnson students have really engaged with our weekly Lollipop moments and it has been lovely to observe the kind words they share with each other.  So far in January we have had some amazing presentations from Bethany talking to us about her performance in Cinderella at the Hippodrome and Kumba and Davisheon about self identity.

The House Leadership team have been phenomenal.  Iona, Lucy H, Lucy E, Anna, Jade, Haiya, Rosie, Emily, Izzy, Isabela, Cerys, Davisheon and Marian have led the House extremely well.  They constantly go above and beyond on a daily basis and are truly inspirational role models to the younger Johnson students.  We have been working very hard to ensure that all students feel proud to be part of Johnson and that every member feels valued.  Our current Year 9 and 10s will start to shadow our leaders this term to decide if they are going to apply to become part of our next Leadership team when the Year 11s prepare for GCSEs.

House Points has been a big focus for House Johnson and although we were pipped to the post by Curie before Christmas; when subtracting the behaviour points from House Points we came first place!

There is lots happening this term.  There is so much to celebrate our Communication Leader Jade is currently in the process of creating a regular Johnson bulletin of success while Haiya is busy getting the House ready for the House Dance Competition in the Summer Term.

I am very much looking forward to this term!
