The School Day

School starts at 8.20 am and ends at 3.45 pm. This may vary on the last day of a term and on certain other occasions but parents are notified well in advance. Punctuality is expected. Failure to be punctual will be dealt with according to policy. The pattern of the day is as follows:-

REGISTRATION/ASSEMBLY/MENTOR/LEAVE FOR GAMES 8.35 to 9.05 am
Lesson 1 9.05 to 10.05 am
BREAK 10.05 to 10.25 am
Lesson 2 10.25 to 11.30 pm
Lesson 3 11.30 to 12.30 pm
LUNCH 12.30 to 1.10 pm
Lesson 4 1.10 to 2.15 pm
Lesson 5 2.15 to 3.15 pm
Enrichment 3.15 to 3.45 pm (No Enrichment on a Friday)

Assemblies 8.35 am – 9.05 am

Assemblies and Religious Education are arranged in accordance with the 1988 Education Reform Act.

Each week there are assemblies with the Head of School.  Other assemblies are scheduled for the separate Year Groups.  There will be Form time on the other days.

Late Arrivals

If girls should arrive late in the morning, they must sign the late book which is kept in the Pupil Reception.

Early Arrivals/Breakfast Club

The School offers breakfast club for all girls from 7.30 – 8.20 am. Girls may enjoy breakfast under supervised conditions.  Pupils will not be allowed in school before 7.30 am.

For pupils in Years 12-13 it is compulsory to register using the Sixth Form signing in/out sheets.

If there are any problems in School between 7.30 am and 8.35 am they should be reported to the member of staff on duty at the pupil entrance.

After School Arrangements

Girls are expected to leave the premises by 4.00 pm unless

(a)               they have been requested to stay and are supervised by a member of staff

(b)               they are attending Homework Club

(c)                they are waiting for a school bus

Homework Club

For girls who may wish to remain in school at the end of the school day there is a Homework Club which offers supervised study from 4.00 pm to 5.30 pm from Monday to Friday.  There is no additional cost for this service.

School Lunch

School lunch for Pupils in Years 7 and 8 is compulsory and is eaten in one of the dining halls. There is a cost implication and parents will need to keep their daughter’s account topped up using ParentPay.  Pupils in Years 9 to 13 have the option of continuing with school lunch or providing their own lunch.  Please contact the Finance office for advice on paying for school lunches.
