There is a extra meeting of the PTA on Tuesday 6th June 7-9pm at CGS to plan for the Summer Fayre, we needs lots of volunteers to help with the Summer Fayre (Saturday 24th June) – all parents/carers welcome.
The CGS Parents’ Association aims to raise money and to support the school, by purchasing equipment for the benefit of all the pupils, or subsidising events and services for particular year groups.
Unlike at junior school, we meet infrequently and only have one main fundraising event each year, the annual Summer Fair. Since this is our key event we are always looking for ideas and support to help raise as much money as possible.

Summer Fair – Saturday 24 June 2017
Most of the stalls at the Summer Fair are run by the girls and teachers. As the PTA our main responsibility is refreshments – we run the popular refreshments stall, which sells baked goodies provided by Y7 pupils along with afternoon tea. We have also added a Pimms stall which has proved popular too!

Nearly New Uniform Sales
The most popular part of our Summer Fair is the ‘nearly new’ uniform sale, a must for current Y6 pupils joining CGS for the new school year in September. Prior to the fair we need helpers to sort through the many donations of clothing and to price all the items ready for the sale.
On the day of the sale we also need lots of helpers to sell and supervise this busy event. If you are able to spare time either beforehand or on the day we would love to hear from you – please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your contact details.
The income generated from our fundraising has, over the past years, provided extra equipment and activities for the pupils, over and above that which the school would be expected to provide.
We funded the purchase of rucksacks and other camping equipment for girls wishing to participate in the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. We have also paid to install a new kitchen for the 6th Formers use.
At the end of the 2015 academic year the PTA purchased outside benches and tables for use at lunch time by all the girls, along with the current House colour pins for all pupils.
We also lend financial support to Y11 and Y13 leavers in the form of subsidised hoodies for Y11, whilst Y13s benefit from a subsidy for their Prom.
